John & Katie // Engaged

Katie and John are one of the most joyful couples I have encountered. Their playful interactions and tender moments alike were so much fun to capture on camera. It had been a rainy day, and we weren't sure what the weather would do, so we grabbed an umbrella and headed out into the vibrant Garrett County spring evening. What ensued was one of the most fun and relaxed shoots I have ever done.

After we finished outside we went inside the nearby restaurant to grab coffee and food.

Maggie

Maggie is a great person for spontaneity, which is funny, because she is also one of the most scheduled people I know. She didn't have a particular place in mind for her photo shoot, except that she wanted to go towards historic Middleburg and Upperville, VA. So that's what we did. We hopped in the car and drove around with no particular place in mind until we found this sweet, dreamy spot near Upperville. Maggie's relaxed, easygoing personality was definitely a part of this fun shoot. I had a blast (how can you not when you get to walk through tall grass and wade in a creek?) photographing her and capturing her personality; relaxed and spunky.

We couldn't get enough of this gorgeous golden hour. 

Although we didn't know for sure where we'd do photos at first, we knew we'd probably come back to Trinity Episcopal Church where we performed a concert the previous year with our school's chorale. From the first moment I stepped foot there I knew I had to come back for a photo shoot some day.
